When the economy gets tough, great sales people take the time to increase their skills!
I have been in sales since 1980. The first sales class I took was through Dale Carnegie. I was impressed by the results I was able to realize from apply the techniques I learned over the six month course. It was especially helpful because it was spread out over time instead of a weekend crash course. I was able to go out into the field and try the different techniques and then go back to the class to talk through what worked and what didn’t to get more input on what I could have done differently.
What I truly appreciated about the Carnegie training was the relationship building techniques. It was an area which is not typical of most sales training courses, but one that was extremely important to me.
I had grown up in a small town and love the relationship side of sales. It is what made it make sense to me. I enjoyed being allowed to participate in my client’s lives and offer them my expertise to help guide them towards a better buying decision.
Here it is more than twenty-one years later and the relationship aspect of sales is still my favorite.
How about you?
