Authentic Presentations

I was watching a webinar the other day and was not connecting to the presenter. I couldn’t figure it out because I was very interested I the information he was presenting, which was Internet Marketing.

I hung in there and listened through the 30 minute presentation and missed a good portion of the presentation because I was focusing on what it was that seemed to be the disconnect.

It wasn’t until a couple of days before I realized the young man was more than likely reading material or had memorized material that someone else had written. The words did not suit his personality or the way he would normally be comfortable with. I truly missed a great deal of the valuable information because of the discord.

Remember, when you are talking with a prospect, you need to be true to your own personality. It doesn’t matter how great a company might feel their canned presentations are, if it doesn’t suit your personality, it will be perceived as phony. Prospects read a sales person very rapidly and are bound to see the disconnect.

Be sure to be true to your own personality and not force your presentations to suit someone else’s verbiage.
